NICOLE STARR CASTILLO
Nicole Star Castillo, executive vice president and partner of WordHampton Public Relations, has been an integral part of the company over the last 20 years. An expert in both media and client relations, she continues to garner positive publicity for major events, food and beverage products, and lifestyle and hospitality services. Her roster of successful and award winning campaigns include: the positioning of an East End vineyard as the premier winery in the newly flourishing wine country on Long Island’s North Fork; launching a new, upscale restaurant with Mexican cuisine as the best of its kind on Long Island; managing the stellar reputation of several top restaurants in the Hamptons; debuting a nationwide campaign, Soldier Ride, to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project; spearheading the social media for the trade association, Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association, to promote the importance of handwriting; and the positioning of a retail boutique in the Hamptons as the go-to gift shop in the Hamptons, to name a few.
Castillo graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in speech communications with honorable distinction. Since her first day at WordHampton she has been stimulating company growth through new initiatives and business development. In 2013 Castillo was honored as one of the future leaders of Long Island at the Long Island Business News 40 Under 40 Awards. She also gives back to the local community in which she grew up. Castillo has worked with several local charities on various fundraising events in her 20 years with the company. As well, she sits on the board of Citizens for Access Rights, a local non-for-profit group created to protect public beach access on the East End. Castillo lives in East Hampton, where she was born and raised with her husband, daughter, son and dog.
